SONGBIRD CONTINUITY SCANDAL WIDENS

As PurpleMage pointed out in our Forums, Yamara was equipped with both a pennant and a songbird in the November 1991 installment. This would mean that the continuity error previously reported itself has a continuity error.

The authors hastily introduced the sop that time travel had to be involved. But there is already evidence that may contradict this assertion.

Barbara Manui is on record for stating that she speculates that when Jif morphs back and forth from flag to bird, there is a transitionary state where he is both.

In effect, Jif may be a Displacer Songbird Wereflag.

In other negative news for the authors, it appears that the spelling of Jif’s name itself is in question. On page 35 of the published Yamara compilation, the spelling of the name is listed as “Jiff”. This may have resulted in Jif’s covert identity being disclosed as early as 1994.

More on this story as it develops.
